ORNAMENTAL GARDENING The cost of my time is from £17.00 - £20.00 per hour (depending on how much travelling I have to do). I do try to stay within a 10-mile radius from Corsham (east of Bath). PAYMENT If you pay by cash or cheque (I will give you a written invoice) please can you pay me at the end of each session. If you pay me by BACS (I will send you an email invoice) please can you pay me weekly/fortnightly as per the agreement we come to. ACCOUNTS AT A PLANT NURSERY The cost of plant purchase will vary. If you only want to buy one or two plants, then we can buy them at a local garden centre (retail). If you want to buy a quantity of plants, then I (as the professional gardener) will use a trade account at a plant nursery near you. I will buy the plants (trade +VAT) and then add a small percentage - as the 'middle woman.' BULBS I am unable to guarantee that the bulbs I plant for you will come up. Once they are underground, and out of sight, they may - for instance - be dug up and eaten (e.g. by squirrels) or rot. |
PETROL COSTS
If I have to drive to a plant nursery/garden centre to get plants/compost/grit/topsoil/fertilizers/herbicides etc for you, then I will charge you £0.45p per mile (fuel plus wear and tear) that I drive in order to accomplish this. CUSTOMER CARE If I work for you for half a day per week (or more) then I will send you an email - detailing work accomplished, ideas, and suggestions - free of charge. I am committed to your garden looking as beautiful as possible. PLANT POTS/ORNAMENTS I can also help you choose a frost-resistant - pot to plant your purchases in. Terracotta pots are the least frost-resistant of pots because they are porous. Earthenware pots are the next-best choice because they are fired at higher temperatures and are less porous. Stoneware pots are as near to frost proof as you can get, because they are 'vitrified' and impermeable to water. I can also assist you to source garden objets d'art - such as arches, pergolas, urns, planters and obelisks - for plants to grow in (or up). |
